Group commends Ikpeazu for restoring sanity in Abia Emblems Levy collection




The forum of Mobile Advert Practitioners of Nigeria has expressed her willingness to partner Abia State government to create a condusive business atmosphere for its members in the state.

The president of the forum Mr Otunba Eboeziegbe, stated after a fact check visit to Governor Okezie Ikpeazu in Umuahia the state capital.


He revealed that his team visited Ikpeazu,  to seek for solutions to the alleged high-handedness and fragrant disregard to the extant taxes and levies charged her members whenever their vehicles crisscrosses Abia State.

He lamented that the members of the forum had received unfair treatment by a former revenue contractor named Mr Azubuike Erondu.

The forum noted that during the fact check, it truly approached all government agencies responsible for the collection of revenue in the state and all confirmed that Erondu, is no longer working with Abia State government and his contract has been terminated.

They stated a latter handed over to them by the chairman Abia State Internally Revenue Service Mr Agbara Celestine, proved that Erondu's contract with the state was terminated, adding that 
the development gladdened the hearts of the members of the forum nationwide, as they can now expect human and lawful treatment on Abia roads.

Eboeziegbe, commended governor Ikpeazu, for giving them a listening ear to address him on the issues of Abia State Emblem enforcement and his prompt interventions to forstore the criminal act of some of the operators in the state.

The forum boss also vowed that her members and customers will buy only genuine Abia State emblems through Abia enforcement app.

He said," Erondu had always muscled and intimidated our members into paying for all sorts of revenue and Emblems of Abia State government directly to him.

"We are also in the know of payments made through him by our members to some cooperate bodies which did not reflect on the state revenue database hence the series of harassment on our drivers whenever they come to the State.

"We also confirmed that Erondu AKA  mopol of Zubics Ventures collected for each vehicle starting from #35,000 and above as against #5,500 set by the Abia State government as tariff for Emblem.

"He also severally detained vehicles crossing the state for days leading to major losses to owners of the goods, in fact perishable goods were not spared. Several of our members paid 200 thousand naira to release a truck from his detention yard.

"But with his sack we expect that ASPIMs charges will be specific by the ABIRS and in accordance with laws of the land". 

"We thank governor Ikpeazu, for giving us a listening ear to address him on the issues of Abia State Emblem enforcement and his prompt interventions to forstore the criminal act of some of the operators in the state".
