2023: Ijioma joins Abia governorship race under APGA; vows to Protect Party's Votes.Ogbonnaya Ikokwu, Umuahia

Major General N Ijioma (Rtd) has formerly joined the Abia State Governorship aspiration race under the All Progressive Grand Alliance,(APGA).

Ijioma, who declared his intentions to  contest the Governorship Election in the forthcoming 2023 ,under the platform of the Party at the State Party Secretariat in Umuahia, said he would bring his experience towards ensuring that the Party would not be rigged out if given the Party's Governorship ticket.

 He was presented to the state working committee of the party by the chairman Bende Local Government chapter of the party.

The retired soldier told journalists after meeting with the State Working Committee of the Party, that he would bring his experience garnered in the military to bear in reorganizing the state for good of all and sundry.

In his words, , "I have been presented to the party excutives by the chairman Bende Local Government chapter as a registered member of APGA,  and also as one of the Governorship aspirants in this Party. 

"Unknown to many civilians the military were I'm coming from is a highly organized force that plans thoroughly  and Strategies before embarking on any projects. 

"The training I have gained within the military is what I will maximize if I'm given the mandate to govern this state.

"I will bring to bear that experience and reorganize Abia state through meticulous planning and strategies
Providing very clear and focus direction for Abia people.

"I have given our partymen a message of hope, they shouldn't lose hope, but they should go ahead and mobilize and sensitize people to obtain their voters cards for those who have not done that.

"They should be willing to come out in their large numbers to vote in 2023 without any fear of  intimidation because their votes must count in 2023".

The chairman of the party in the state Rev Austine Ehiemere, who received the aspirant together with other part executives told him that APGA was a good platform to exchange those in Abia State Government House. 

He said the problem of the State was the greedy nature of those who had been in government for personal gains rather than the collective well being of Abians.

Ehiemere, told Ijioma, that party is free to welcome as many aspirant as may want to be her flag bearer, adding a credible primary election would be conducted to elect the best aspirant.

The high point of the visit was the presentation of a Sienna bus and an electric generating set to the state chapter of the party by the aspirant.
