Atiku Atikukawai Media group has described the call by the southern governors for the presidency seat be ceeded to the political enclave as "undemocratic and against democratic ethics", insisting that their stand laughable and ridiculous

The group spoke in a chat through its South East Zonal Director, Emma Ukpai following a recent call by the governors demanding that  the 2023 Presidency must be zoned to the south.

Ukpai had lambasted the governors who he reasoned, failed to acknowledge the fact that in a democratic setting every qualified citizen has a right to contest for an elective position.

"I think the Southern governors should have respected the fact that this is democracy and that every citizen of Nigeria is qualified to seek for an office" he said.

Ukpai had insisted that Nigeria electorate are wiser and are aware that
competency is a foremost criteria for all contestants ahead of the 2023 Presidential  Elections.

His words, "in 2023 what Nigeria  is seeking for is solution to the myriads of problems and challenges facing the country and this solution  goes beyond ethnicity, religion and relationship but rather competency .

According to him also, the country,  "is in a dire need of a unifier, an individual that can rescue and redirect Nigeria to the path of growth come 2023 with total disregard to where the person comes from".

He beckoned on the Southern governors to allow the citizens make their choice on who to govern them instead of stroking ethnic sentiments which will do more harm than good to the country.

He  had described Alhaji Atiku Abubakar  as the most acceptable candidate whose credentials are unmatched and unrivalled  by any other candidate ahead of the 2023 Presidential elections just as he called for support from people of the southeast zone for the presidential ambition of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar come 2023 since according to him, it would be hugely beneficial to the Ndigbo in the long run.
