Angela Johnson foundation inaugurates Abai state chapter


The Angela Johnson Hope for the Less Privilege foundation has inaugurated its Abia state chapter in Umuahia the state capital.

Speaking shortly after the inauguration the founder Rev. Angela Johnson, said the foundation was established promote the welfare of people living in the the rural community in Nigeria.

Johnson who was the Presidential flag bearer of the Alliance for United Nigeria Party in the 2019 general election, stated that her experience while camping for the election realved that many rural dewellers were living in unfriendly environments.

She pointed out that the idea to start the foundation came when she was directed by God to take up the task of Assisting people in the

rural communities who were  dying unnecessarily as a result of lack of health facilities.

She said, "I saw the need to start from rural communities to meet the needs of our people. 

"We want to start by building  medical centres and maternity homes in our villages to prevent our people from dying unnecessarily. 

"We cannot continue to blame politicians for our troubles, we want to contribute our own quattas in saving the lives of our people".

She pointed out that the foundation has acquired lands on lease for community farming.

She said the idea was intended to create jobs for many unemployed youths in the rural area, adding that forty percent of proceeds from the  communities farming would go to the community for donating their lands for the project.

Johnson stated that the foundation as a non-profit making organization would depend on the good will of good spirited Nigerians for sponsorship.

The highlight of the inauguration includes the admisstering of the oath of office to the Abia state director

Mrs Chineyere Unachukwu, 

 and her exco members.
